Twenty firearms registered to Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa were voluntarily surrendered to the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Davao City for safekeeping following the revocation of his firearm licenses and registrations.
The turnover was facilitated by the senator’s authorized legal representative at a residence in Barangay Ma-a. The firearms are now under the custody of the Regional Civil Security Unit 11 (RCSU 11).
In a statement, the PNP said the surrender complied with its regulatory action revoking all firearm licenses linked to Dela Rosa.
“The firearms were voluntarily turned over from the residence associated with Senator Ronald M. Dela Rosa in Barangay Ma-a, Davao City, through his authorized legal representative,” the PNP said.
The revocation follows a PNP decision last month to cancel the senator’s firearm licenses as part of its enforcement procedures.
Dela Rosa has an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC) for alleged crimes against humanity related to the Duterte administration’s drug war.
