The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) said it has confiscated nearly P1.54 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested three drug suspects, including a high-value target, in a series of anti-illegal drug operations conducted in different parts of Davao City on July 15 and 16.
According to DCPO, their biggest haul came from an operation by the Ecoland Police Station, which resulted in the arrest of two alleged drug peddlers and the seizure of P1.3 million worth of suspected dried marijuana leaves during an operation on Wednesday.
In a separate buy-bust operation, the Maa Police Station, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 11 (PDEA 11), arrested a high-value target in Purok 18, GEM Village, Barangay Maa on Wednesday.
Authorities confiscated an estimated P140,080 worth of suspected shabu from the suspect.
Another anti-drug operation was carried out on Thursday in Purok 25, Teacher’s Village, Barangay Calinan Poblacion, where the Calinan Police Station, together with personnel from the 1st and 2nd City Mobile Force Companies and PDEA 11, arrested a street-level individual (SLI).
Recovered during the operation were approximately 14.66 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P99,688.
The DCPO said the three operations resulted in the confiscation of illegal drugs with a combined estimated value of P1,539,768, marking another significant accomplishment in its intensified campaign against illegal drugs.
DCPO City Director Col. Peter Bauzon Madria lauded the operating units for their successful operations, saying they reflect the police force’s unwavering commitment to protecting the city from illegal drugs.
“I commend our operating units for their swift and successful operations. These accomplishments reflect the unwavering commitment of the Davao City Police Office to intensify intelligence-driven anti-illegal drug campaigns and keep Davao City safe and drug-free,” Madria said.
He also highlighted the crucial role of collaboration among law enforcement agencies, barangay officials, the local government, and the community in sustaining the city’s anti-drug campaign.
“These achievements underscore the dedication of our personnel and the strong coordination among the DCPO, PDEA, barangay officials, the Local Government of Davao City, and vigilant citizens in protecting our communities from the threat of illegal drugs,” he added.
