The Department of Public Works and Highways Region 11 (DPWH 11) Davao City II District Engineering Office has launched emergency repair and monitoring operations following a road slip that forced the closure of a section of the Davao–Bukidnon Road in Barangay Marilog Proper, Davao City.
The affected stretch, located in Purok 39, Sitio Marahan, was declared impassable to all types of vehicles on Sunday as engineers assessed the damage and carried out immediate repair works to ensure public safety.
As part of its response, DPWH 11 has started resealing cracks and joints on the concrete pavement while continuously monitoring the affected area and nearby alternate routes to maintain safe and orderly traffic flow.
In an advisory issued on Sunday, DPWH 11 urged motorists to avoid the closed section and use the designated alternate routes.
DPWH 11 advised all vehicles to take the Maramag–Damulog–Carmen–Kidapawan–Digos Road, while light vehicles may use the Davao–Bukidnon Road via the Campo Uno section or the Datu Ladayon–Katipunan–Arakan Road, subject to road conditions.
DPWH 11 assured the public that monitoring and response operations are ongoing and appealed to motorists to exercise caution and follow traffic advisories.
