Vice President Sara Duterte paid tribute to blood donors in observance of National Blood Donor Month, describing them as “silent heroes” whose generosity helps save countless lives.

In a video message posted on her official Facebook page on Wednesday, Duterte recognized the vital role of voluntary blood donors in providing hope to patients and their families.

The vice president also encouraged more eligible Filipinos to become blood donors, outlining basic steps for those interested in participating.

She said qualified donors should be between 18 and 65 years old, weigh at least 50 kilograms, and have normal blood pressure.

She also advised prospective donors to visit official donation sites, including blood centers in hospitals and the Philippine Red Cross, or coordinate with their local barangays for mobile blood drives.

Duterte emphasized that a single bag of donated blood can save up to three lives.
