The Davao Region recorded a 2.5% unemployment rate in April 2026, significantly lower than the 4.7% national unemployment rate, according to data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
Based on the PSA’s April 2026 Labor Force Survey, around 64,000 people in the Davao Region were unemployed, while the region posted a 97.5% employment rate.
Nationally, the Philippines recorded a 4.7% unemployment rate, equivalent to approximately 2.41 million unemployed Filipinos, with an employment rate of 95.3% during the same reference period.
PSA stated that the figures indicate that the Davao Region’s unemployment rate was 2.2 percentage points lower than the national level, reflecting stronger employment performance in the region during April.
The PSA released the national April 2026 Labor Force Survey results on June 9, 2026, while the Davao Region-specific figures were released by the PSA Regional Statistical Services Office 11 on August 18, 2026.
However, PSA added that the latest national data show that unemployment has since risen to 6.0% in July 2026, based on the PSA Labor Force Survey released on September 8.
The PSA has also released the July 2026 regional statistical tables, which include Davao Region data.
A separate July regional employment report for Davao, however, has yet to be issued by PSA RSSO 11.
