Maya on the Block | Flavours of Thailand: A culinary journey at Benjarong Davao

DusitD2 Davao rolled out a special culinary experience that brought the vibrant flavors of Thailand right to the heart of Davao City.

DusitD2 Davao and Dusit Thani Residence Davao collab-ed to bring Flavours of Thailand, an all-you-can-eat dining showcase at Benjarong Davao, featuring authentic Thai cuisine prepared by guest chefs from Dusit Thani Phuket.

This gastronomic celebration took us on a flavorful journey through Thailand, starting with delightful appetizers such as Goong Sarong—crispy, noodle-wrapped shrimp paired with sweet chili sauce; Thung Thong Goong, golden pastry pouches filled with seasoned shrimp; and Yum Mamuang, a refreshing green mango salad topped with peanuts, dried shrimp, chili, and a tangy fish sauce-lime dressing.

For the main course, we indulged in classic Thai favorites: Panang Gai, a rich red curry with tender chicken and creamy coconut milk;Choo Chee Pla, fried fish bathed in a fragrant curry sauce; and Phu Phat Phong Ka Ree Bai Cha Plu, a luscious crab meat curry infused with betel leaves and Thai spices

The meal concluded on a sweet note with traditional Thai desserts that truly captured the essence of Southeast Asian comfort food: Kluay Buat Chi – banana gently simmered in coconut milk; Tako Maprao On – delicate coconut pudding topped with young coconut strips; and Khanom Tom Bai Toey – pandan-scented sticky rice balls filled with palm sugar, rolled in fresh grated coconut

From the first bite to the last spoonful, Flavours of Thailand was a masterful showcase of Thai culinary artistry—bold, aromatic, and beautifully presented.

Thank you, Ms. Benette, for the kind invitation.
