I was honored to be among the first to experience the immersive two-day “Mati Magic” journey, showcasing a new tourism partnership between Park Inn by Radisson Davao, Adelina Hotel and Suites, and Dahican Beach Resort and Spa.

Our journey began on September 29 at the Subangan Museum, where Mati’s vibrant history and rich heritage came alive. From intricate cultural artifacts to the breathtaking diorama of Mount Hamiguitan, every exhibit told a story of resilience and natural wonder.
The museum beautifully honors the spirit of the people of Davao Oriental, especially in the aftermath of Typhoon Pablo in 2012. Seeing photos of the devastation made my heart drop, deepening my appreciation for the community’s strength and recovery.
Next, we found pure bliss at Dahican Beach Resort and Spa—a paradise defined by powdery white sands and crystal-clear waters. I melted into calm with a rejuvenating Swedish massage at Da Spa.
Dahican Beach Resort is more than just a beach getaway; it’s a sanctuary where stylish comfort meets wellness, complete with activities for every kind of traveler seeking relaxation by the sea.
But the highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the breathtaking Pujada Bay Tour on September 30. We explored three stunning islands—Wanibad, Oak (also known as the Vanishing Island), and Pujada—sailing across turquoise waters dotted with pristine islets.
Though the strong waves kept us from landing on Oak Island, its solitary silhouette rising from the bay’s powerful currents was a sight to behold—nature’s own gem amid the vast sea.
Despite the scorching sun, the memories made on Pujada Bay shone far brighter, leaving a lasting impression of beauty and tranquility.
