Two moderate earthquakes rocked some parts of Mindanao on Monday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
In its bulletin, the agency said the first quake with magnitude 3.7 occurred at 1:57 a.m. Monday. Its epicenter was traced some 99 kilometers northeast of Burgos in Surigao del Norte, at a depth of around five kilometers.
The second quake happened around 2:16 a.m., a magnitude 3.9 rocking General Santos City with its epicenter located about 218 kilometers southeast at a depth of four kilometers.
Phivolcs said the two earthquakes were tectonic in origin.
The agency further noted that no damage or casualty was reported and aftershocks are not expected as well. [PNA]
