There’s no better way to register business than doing it online.
After tapping national government agencies, the Philippine Business Registry (PBR) is now urging local government units to appreciate business registration “at your fingertips” and embrace the system in their own localities.
PBR project manager Whilner Morales explains that PBR harmonizes business registration by assigning a unique Philippine Business Number to each registered business entity.
“The system also offers to facilitate transaction among agencies and the business sector by providing a single window for online business registration across agencies.”, he said.
The project is coming up with a system which is secure and non-intrusive web-based that will be the primary repository of all relevant datasets required by government agencies involved in business registration.
At the moment, business applicants spend much time going from one agency to another since each agency runs a system of their own that is independent from the system of other agencies.
With PBR, it puts together common information from various databases to streamline registration requirements.
Aside from fast processing, the system also allows paperless transactions and eliminate repetitive submission of the same information.
The government, too, gets its benefit from it. It will reduce processing cost and time as well as generate savings.
Morales bared that the system is in the process of finalization and will probably come out later this year.
It targets not just national government agencies but also local government units.
“ I hope that local executives will appreciate the system and embrace it to be part of their local governance.” he said. [PIA 11/Mai Gevera]
