The owners and management of hotels and lodging houses in Davao City demonstrated acts of good Samaritans by offering rooms to the city’s frontliners such as nurses and workers of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies.
The list of hotels and lodging houses that opened their doors are Blue Lotus Hotel, Apo View Hotel, Oyo Hotels in Davao Airport View, Circle-B Suites, Chateau Cinco Dormitel, D’Airbus Inn, Yellow Pad, Sharana Pensionne, Capital O World Palace and Oh George! Drive-Inn.
The management of Eurotel-run Apo View Hotel has likewise opened its rooms as temporary residence of the 50 frontliners of the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) to avoid possible contaminations in their household.
“The management already opened our doors last week. This is in support to the frontliners who are working very hard and risking their lives for us. This is our way to help and support to the government with its battle against COVID-19,” said Apo View Hotel manager Leah Adolfo in a text message.
Adolfo added that their branches in Manila already gave more than 400 rooms in different areas such as Sogo, which provided 421 rooms and Eurotel 50 rooms.
Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (DCCCII) president John Carlo Tria expressed his thanks to the different hotels that have answered to their call to accommodate frontliners and BPO workers.
“We are thankful for them for allowing the nurses and BPO workers to stay. They will allow them safer and easier access to their workplaces while complying with government requirements he said,” Tria said in a statement.
