As early as now, owners of Camella Northpoint condo units are anticipating a grand Christmas 2010 experience at a place where one of Davao City’s historical spots —The White Mansion—is located in Bajada, just off the Buhangin Flyover.
This, according to Ma. Leni Damasco-Luya, head of operations for the Visayas and Mindanao of Vista Land & Lifescapes, Inc., during the launching last September 25 of the Manchester, the first building of Camella Northpoint, whose occupancy is due in December as 90 percent of its units have been sold.
On the other hand, 70 percent of the units of the second building—the Birmingham—have already been sold even while its construction is still going on.
While some of the buyers are from Manila and Cebu, the majority are local businessmen, according to Marlon Escalicas, general manager. He added that these include investors from the adjoining provinces of Davao del Norte and Davao del Sur.
“Camella Northpoint also appeals to foreigners, a few of whom are from the diplomatic community,” he said.
“Some parents have bought studio units for their children who go to school in the city,” Joey Sison, marketing head, said. He added that the interior design of the sample units shown during the launching was done by Michael Pizzaro, whose expertise is maximizing the use of space.
Asked about the factors behind their outstanding sales performance, Luya replied, “Aside from its prime location and amenities, credit must go to the good financial track record of Vista Land.”
Vista Land condominium projects are not more on profit, Escalicas said, but are projects with a concept. “We promote modern urban lifestyle and build communities amid a healthy environment,” he added, noting Camella Northpoint’s two million pine trees are expected to be fully grown in three years.
“The investment is not just for us to make a profit,” he said.
“We give attention to details and go out of our way to enhance the living experience of homeowners,” Luya chimed in.
“With a total of 2.8 hectares of land area, Camella Northpoint was designed to provide wellness to its residents,” she added, “which goes to show that we look for ways and means to provide quality of living. Although it’s near commercial establishments, yet when you’re inside, it’s like a haven,” she said.
Being consistent with the British colonial concept, Escalicas said the owners will be treated like kings and queens by providing them shuttle services to make them feel a sense of royalty.
Other amenities at Camella Northpoint are an automated gate system with CCTV cameras that owners can access through their cable television; a proximity card to automatically open the gate by swiping, a clubhouse and multi-function hall with free wireless internet (wi-fi) connection. The condo units are also wi-fi and cable ready with access to CCTV courtesy of the Home Channel.
Aside from the indoor gardens in the buildings to contribute in the wellness of the residents, a fitness gym, meditation pond, and salinated pool which is the first in Davao City will also be constructed.
Commercial establishments will also be located there which will be open to all Dabawenyos. There will be multi-level parking, a tunnel where artefacts will be featured along with a wine cellar and bar. The existing kiosk at the entry area will be transformed into a coffee shop and resto. Different levels of board walk, creating an amphitheatre under the pine trees, will be constructed on the slope.
There will also be quaint shops selling specialty goods while the White Mansion will become a restaurant and at the same time an entry to the boutique hotel.
In effect, it will be like creating a “small world” because it will be a “self-sustaining” community, Luya said.
“Our grand plan is to help promote tourism in Davao City by making this project a destination in itself,” Escalicas said.
“For anyone coming to Davao City, a visit to Camella Northpoint will be a must!” Luya said. [Lorie Ann A. Cascaro]
