Davao pugs to Cuba, GS Cup, Jollibee Run

REY Saludar and Charlie Suarez of the Brgy.Una Boxing Team-Panabo City are leaving for Cuba where they will stay for 21 days and train under famed Cuban coaches who have produced many Olympic champions.
On September 1 to 12, they will be in romantic Milan, Italy, a place they have seen only in the movies, where they will compete in the AIBA World Championships.
Thanks to Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines (ABAP) chairman Manny V. Pangilinan of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone for backing the Dabawenyos and giving them the needed international exposure.
Saludar is fighting in the 51-kilogram division while Suarez is entered in the 57-kilogram division. There will be fighters in the championships from more than 100 countries. It’s going to be a very tough assignment for our fighters.
Good luck boys and make your boxing patrons Tadeco president Tony Boy Floirendo and Davao del Norte Rep. Anton F. Lagdameo Jr. very happy. Make your mama Gene Rose Tecson, the hard-working Brgy.Una Boxing Program director, very, very proud of you.
