Davao Association of Tennis Clubs (DATEC) official Alex Bernan said two of their products have qualified to the Milo Tennis Tournament-Malaysia Edition.
John Bryan Otico and Roxanne Resma will be joining Christian San Andres of NCR and Cebu’s Hannah Espinosa and Jacob Lagman in the four-leg competition on November 24 to 28 in Selangor, November 30 to December 3 in Penang, December 5 to 9 in Perlis and December 10 to 14 in Langkawi.
Bernan told sportswriters during the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum on October 8 at Tower Inn-The Business Hotel that Otico and Resma are currently training under the auspices of the DATEC Tennis Academy.
“There will be entries from Europe and Australia who will be competing,” said Bernan.
He said he will be assisting coaches Jovy Mamawal and Rene Selmar and hopefully gain more experience on how to handle topnotch players.
Prior to leaving the country, the team will pay a courtesy call on PSC chairman Harry Angping at the Philippine Sports Commission office.
