Engay, Gimony shine in DCAA chessfest

Jet Engay of Unit II won the elementary boy’s chess title in the recent Davao City Athletic Association Meet at the YMCA Davao Multi-Purpose gym.
Art Garret Maligang of Unit I and Leo Bhen Sabay of Unit III finished second and third, respectively.
Joelz Gimony of Unit VIII clinched the girl’s crown while Hannah Joyce Amoncio and Ella Grace Moulic of Unit 9 took the second and third spots, respectively.
In the secondary boy’s division, Austin Jacob Literatus of Unit III emerged first place while Danilo Engay of Unit II bagged the second spot, followed by John Gerard Acedo of Unit VIII at third.
Starjen Candia of Unit VI shared the limelight by winning the girl’s division. Rowelyn Joy Acedo of Unit VIII wound up at second place and Nikki Erica Yngayo of Unit IX settled at third place. [MPBillacura]
