Holy Cross of Davao College men and Jose Maria College women dominated the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Palaro chess tournament-Davao City eliminations, December 23, at the HCDC campus.
Holy Cross scored 20.5 points in the two-day event to outscore Jose Maria College which tallied 19 points. University of Mindanao finished with 17 points.
The JMC women collected 16.5 points to finish first while UM came in second with 15.5 points and host HCDC in third with 14 points.

Holy Child School of Davao topped the cadet’s division while the Ateneo de Davao High School ruled the girl’s class of the Gaisano South Cup, December 19, at the Gaisano South Sky gym.
Joshua Aguilon topscored for Holy Child with 22 points in the final against Ateneo de Davao, 76-68. He was also named the most valuable player.
Ateneo de Davao relied on Trisha Anne Piatos who drilled in 49 points to lead her team past Assumption College of Davao-A to share the limelight of the finals.

The City Mobile Group emerged champion of the Davao City Police Office Inter-Unit basketball tournament, December 20, at the DCPO court.
Talomo Precint settled for second place, followed by the Traffic Management Group in third and Mobile Patrol Group fourth.

Final games of the Pahalipay ni Mayor Rody-Inday Sara sa Pasko Softball Tournament is scheduled on December 30 at the Mintal Elementary School.
Tagum Development Corp. (Tadeco) of Panabo and the combined teams of University of Mindanao and Davao City Water District are the top favorites expected to clash in the finals, according to tournament director Joaquin “Boy” Sarabia.

The Mayor Rody and Inday Sara All-Media Basketball Tournament resumes on January 3 at the Davao City Recreation Center.
Rody Black plays Rody White at 2 p.m. while Inday Sara Red collides with Inday Sara Green at 3:30 p.m.
