The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) National Games-Davao Elimination opening ceremony is on December 21, 9 a.m., at the UIC Bajada campus.
PRISAA executive director Joaquin “Boy” Sarabia during the DSA Forum, December 10, at the Tower Inn said 26 events are to be played in the three-day elimination to select the best athletes for the regional final on January 8 to 10, 2010.
The regional winners will be sent to the national final on February 22 to 28 in Manila.
Aside from the sports disciplines, academic and cultural events will also be part of the Games.

Assumption College of Davao and Ateneo de Davao made it to the finals of the Gaisano South Cup after besting their rivals at the Gaisano Sky gym.
ACD and Ateneo will dispute the girl’s division title.
Holy Child School of Davao advanced to the junior’s division final against Ateneo de Davao while Agro-Industrial Foundation College battles Holy Cross of Davao College in the collegiate division.

The Pahalipay sa Pasko Arnis Tournament is on December 22 at a venue still to be announced by Arnis Philippines-Davao commissioner Mario Palazuelo.
He said the tournament will also serve as their preparation for the Batang Pinoy Olympics on February 13, 2010 in Cagayan de Oro City.

The Pahalipay sa Pasko ni Mayor Swimming Relay is on December 19, according to Philippine Amateur Swimming Association (PASA) regional director Deedee Gonzalez.
All competitors must register at 7:30 a.m. while the contest starts at 9 a.m.

The AAK-Philippines Karatedo Team won six gold, two silver and three bronze medals in the 3rd Asian Koi Open Karate Championship, December 4 to 6, at the Cheras Badminton Stadium, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, according to the Association for the Advancement of Karatedo (AAK)-Davao head Rommel Tan.
