Vargas: MOVE is for everybody

THE Multi-sectoral Organization of Volunteers for Entrepreneurship (MOVE) is not only for businessmen but is also for others who want to put up their own business.
“Regardless of their gender, or whether he or she still has no business, they are welcome to join us in MOVE,” said MOVE Davao Chapter chairman Carlos Vargas last  December 6 at the Royal Mandaya Hotel.
In fact, MOVE has been conducting free trainings for women, including in the culinary arts. This week, MOVE has an ongoing free training and seminar on how to start one’s own business at the Island Garden City of Samal.
MOVE also has a sports entrepreneurship program that is under national sports chair Darren Evangelista, chief operation officer and president of the Evangelista Aquatics and Sports Management Inc. (EASMI).
Evangelista has started with his swimming instructions business and later formed his own company that is now promoting and organizing different sports events all over the Philippines.
“We want to share our knowledge and expertise,” said Evangelista, who is also now the regional director of the Aquatic Sports Association of the Phils. (ASAP).
He recently organized a free inter-school swimming competition and a coaching seminar last weekend at the Ladislawa Country Club in Davao that was participated in by 23 schools from Davao, Mati, Davao Oriental, Koronadal City and Samal.
His wife, Charito Guillermo-Evangelista, is also an entrepreneur and will be publishing a monthly sports magazine early next year.
MOVE’s inspirational icon is Senator Manny Villar, who first became a successful realtor and businessman before entering politics.
“Siya talaga ang inspiration namin to become an entrepreneur,” chorused Vargas and Evangelista.  [PR]
