Golfer of the Week – Meloy Mercado

The name Meloy Mercado is synonymous to Jack’s Ridge.
When golfers ask about Jack’s Ridge, the popular family restaurant and resort at Shrine Hills, they will quickly tell you, “Go to Meloy”.
Meloy is just one of the regular golfers in Davao and an active member of the Businessman, Lawyer, Doctor Golfers (BULDOG) Group.
One thing about Meloy is that he’s just one of the jolly persons during BULDOG and other tournaments when friends come together.
Like other businessmen, Meloy is into golf because it is a non-contact sport designed to make them relax, thanks to the presence of beautiful courses in Davao.
Jack’s Ridge is full of people, specially during weekends, where good food, good coffee and pastries are available but the functions of running it has also been delegated to his children in order to give him more time also to devote attention to his farm.
The years of hard work bore fruit with the help of his family and friends, and playing golf is one of the joys he cherishes.
At the golf course and during awarding ceremonies, Meloy does not talk about business. He enjoys talking with his golf cronies about a lot of  things, other than business. They talk about their families and their kids, their golf idols, including the mistakes they did during the game and how to improve their swing.
