ANFLOCOR is favored to win against the Mahipus Law Firm in the inter-company division championship game of the First Orange Generation Basketball Tournament’s Manny Villar Cup.
The do-or-die match is on February 7 at the Gaisano Citimall Skygym, according to tournament director Rael Diaz of the organizing Evangelista Aquatics and Sports Management Inc.
“Mahirap talunin sila kasi they have three six-footers,” said team manager lawyer Alan Roy Lopez during an interview at the Royal Mandaya Hotel.
But team captain Sherwin Santos said that his team will do its best to again beat the Mahipus team mentored by Eliezer Acero.
Anflocor defeated the Mahipus squad of playing team owner City Councilor Dado Mahipus, 85-77, at the Dona Salud gym last December 20 in the elimination round of the tournament sponsored by Senator Manny Villar.
In the semifinals, Anflocor ousted Holcim, 94-69, while Mahipus downed Yuchengco Group of Companies, 86-71, last January 24 at the Brokenshire gym.
Anflocor is composed of Reynaldo Aranaydo, Arnel Pasiola, Johnny Sandag, Nathaniel Mariano, Mansfield Martinez, Socrates Amacio Jr., Philip Mejorada, Evaristo Alegre, Joen Unilongo, Manuel Pahamotang, Rannel Flores, Christopher Go, Russel Barrizo, Ronnel Aposaga and Ariel Ureta.
Mahipus will be powered by Geliar de Guzman, Cesar Estomata, Fructuoso Pacayra III, Edgardo Canilao, Benjie Ouano, Vincent Plarisan, Edwil Bohone, Emmanuel Montalban, Rodencio Paring Jr., Ronnel Bantilan, Jonel Avendano, Aldain Casado, Diamal Casan and Marlon Brendol.[PR]
