Golfer of the Week – Dr. Teody Barnuevo

Dr. Teody Barnuevo is a member of the Physicians Golf Association (PGA) of Davao and the Businessman, Lawyer, Doctor Golfers (BULDOG) group.
And why is he into golf that much? It’s not for anything else, but to keep himself fit and to keep in touch with fellow lovers of an exciting mental game, golf.
His involvement in the PGA of Davao is in support of the Balik Alay Foundation of the Davao Doctor’s Hospital while with BULDOG, he helps in raising funds for various charitable works in partnership with lawyers and businessmen.
The Balik Alay Foundation is intended for patients who cannot afford the high-cost of undergoing surgery. It is also into acquisition of stretchers and wheelchairs for donation to the Davao Medical Center.
The BULDOG group aims to reach remote communities and attend to the medical, legal and business concerns of those who live there.
Winning in tournaments is always a joy, especially when one receives that shiny trophy, but for Dr. Teody, the company of good friends has also become an opportunity to talk of, and do, noble work in the Davao community.
PGA of Davao is composed mainly of surgeons who are bound together by their common love for the sport. Some of the doctors, like Dr. Teody, also joined BULDOG as a natural consequence of their desire to help strengthen the organization.
But the bottomline is the fact that they enjoy playing golf as a group and at the end of eah tournament they get the chance to see fellow Dabawenyo golfers get the needed lift that comes with winning  [Moses P. Billacura]
