Come February 18 to 21, businessman Milton Liu will be among the members of the seniors team of the Rancho Palos Golf and Country Club which will see action in the 63rd Philippine Airlines Interclub Golf Tournament in Bacolod City.
The top executive of Southern Motors of Davao, Inc., the exclusive distributor of Isuzu vehicles like the popular Crosswind which will feature this year their Euro2 compliant engine at the SMDI Building in Matina, is a familiar name in the seniors team, having captained the squad three years ago.
The sweet-smiling Milton is a regular golfer who started playing the sport as a teenager. No wonder he shines in most of the tournaments in Davao City that included being class B champion of the first Hyundai World of Golf- Mindanao championships last year.
His quest for glory in Bacolod is backstopped by a formidable line-up composed of national seniors team members Jose Ma. Marfori, this year’s team captain, Victor Gonzales, Faisal Samanodi, Jose Francisco Llamas, Louie Brodeth and Pepito Gilles.
The Palos golfers have been honing their skills along with the men’s regular squad bannered by Monchit Mackay,Lee Hyu Sung, Ronald Galicia, Larry Miculob, Eduardo Wee, James Noel Morente, Jeffrey Ramirez, Vincent Arcenas, Lee Sung Ho and Paul Garcia.
They hope that they can come up with a better performance this year, according to Rancho Palos Golf and Country Club manager Engr.Albert Casenas.
It looks like Liu’s competitive spirit has risen a notch higher because they will be up against the country’s best seniors teams also.
In the meantime, he keeps his cool, focuses on his practice and hopefully scorch sizzling hot in Bacolod. [Moses P. Billacura]
