Vicente Banggat of Brgy. Tagpopongan, Samal and Federico Canoy of Maitum, Sarangani province handled their motorboats better than their rivals to top the 5th Mitsubishi-Radio Mindanao Network Banca Race, March 14, at the Sta.Ana wharf.
Banggat won the 7-horsepower category and received P15,000, a trophy and medal plus a 7-horsepower Mitsubishi engine. Fernando Abba of Bucana, Davao City crossed the finish line next to Banggat to take the 4-horspower Mitsubishi engine, P10,000, a trophy and medal as prizes.
Almojid Lingasa of Brgy. La Union, San Isidro, Davao Oriental landed in third place for P5,000, a trophy and medal as prizes.
Canoy, on the other hand, received a 16.5-horsepower Mitsubishi engine, P20,000, a trophy and medal for bagging the 16.5-horsepower category. Townmate Arsenio Barit followed in second place and brought home a 6-horsepower Mitsubishi engine, P15,000, a trophy and medal while third placer Jovito Verezraiz pocketed P10,000.
RMN-dxDC manager Dodong Solis thanked the various participants and the supporters of the race led by Seacom Incorporated, exclusive distributor of Mitsubishi engines.
