However, don’t dare get him to talk about cars and motorbikes or you’ll be sorry. He can talk about those things for hours. He is young, driven, creative and, no wonder, he was able to set up also Detail Worx 101 should you need to make your car and motorcyle better looking machines.
Talking about good looking machines, he doesn’t brag about his accomplishments despite the many awards he has won in numerous Auto Show competitions. Drag racing and autocross have been part of his schedule, including photography, being one of Manny Pacquiao’s official photographers, and shooting pics for Zee Lifestyle Magazine.
What about golf?
“I started playing golf when I was in college, but I was not that serious then, just on and off. When my brother-in-law, Gary Teves, asked me to play with him that’s when I fell in love with the game again but it was short-lived–two years,” he said. Gary the lawyer, is married to Jasper’s sister, Janette, former head of the Davao City tourism operations office.
Fell out of love?
“After sometime my friends, Leo Yap, Glen Yap, Ely Villarosa, Dexter So, Peter Baruis and Mykie Hao persuaded me to play again. After some hesitation, I gave golf another shot,” he added.
In 2009, Jasper found his winning groove and fell in love with the sport all over again. The result? Eight trophies to showcase his auto race trophies.
He maybe not yet be on a roll, but a victory in the 1st Banana Tee Open Best Ball tournament recently with partner Dexter So at the Davao City Golf Club may indicate that he will be gunning for more honors this year.
The Jasper and Dexter chemisty came up with a one-stroke win in Division C. “The Banana Tee is my first trophy for the year and I am hoping for more to come,” he said.
The way things are going, no doubt Jasper is definitely going to win more victories this year. [Moses P. Billacura]
