The members of the delegation met with Mayor Inday Sara Duterte for a send off meeting last July 01, Thursday at the Grand Men Seng Hotel. In her short message to the Officials & Athletes, her challenge to them was to give their best and make their country proud especially Davao City.
Pastor Gary V. Visitacion, PTF President also brief the Mayor regarding the sport of Tchoukball that after the Singapore trip there will be a massive promotion of Tchoukball in Davao City in the different schools & institutions. Plans are also underway to hold the 1st Philippine Tchoukball Open on February 11-13, 2011 here in Davao City. Eight (8) Asian countries have already signified their intention of coming led by Taiwan currently the world champion in Tchoukball, Singapore currently ranked 3rd in the world games, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Macau, Thailand & United Arab Emirates. India & Pakistan are also being considered to be invited to the tournament.
Members of the Davao City Tchoukball Team who will represent the country in the U18 Boys Division is led by Coach Blair T. Cuares, PTF Vice-President for Mindanao, Dr. Norman Edgar Magpantay, Head Coach, Carlos B. Mendiola Jr. & Danilo V. Vergara as team managers, Coaching staff Wilmer M. Osa, Gavino T. Gumba Jr., Meller M. Nebrada. Teach Chaplain is Daniel Dale B. Penano & Referee is David Dwight B. Penao. Players are Brylle Vincent T. Cuares, Jan Miguel V. Vergara, Marlo Jay C. Vecino, Kenneth John F. Arapoc, Joebert L. Cabardo, Leynard Joseph P. Ambulo, Alexis Jade Dy, Joshua Inigo L. Delariarte and Jon Earl M. Dumanon.
