Susan Paredes of National Broadcasting Network (NBN) and Allan Abais of ABS-CBN Davao’s dxAB eclipsed the performances of their colleagues and took the highest single scorer awards of the 16th Lapanday Foods Corp. Tri-Media Bowling Tournament, July 24, at the B3 of NCCC Mall.
Paredes showed again her fine form by rolling 174 pinfalls to beat many-time women’s champion Edith Isidro of the Philippine Information Agency 11. Abais, who handles a daily morning program, showed that he was not only good in the inter-media basketball tournament but also on the lanes by scoring 202 pinfalls.
“I am surprised by my performance and I am very happy,” said Paredes.
Paredes also contributed to her team’s victory in the team competition when Island Sun, one of the in-house brands of Lapanday’s banana products, totalled 2,481 pinfalls.
Royal team, led by Davao Sportswriters Association president Charles Raymond A. Maxey, 2,381 pinfalls, bagged second place followed by Abais’s team, Aloha Bananas in third place with 2,316 pinfalls.
