Mia Piccio fired a two-under par 70 to emerge the low medalist and lead a sweep of the top four places by the RP-ICTSI players in the 80th Women’s Trans Amateur Championship stroke play event at The Country Club of Lincoln in Nebraska, July 26.
Piccio, who carded a 73 in the opening round, dished out a near-flawless game in the second round, hitting three birdies against a bogey for that 70 and a 143.
She beat teammate Dottie Ardina by one with the latter matching par for the second straight day for a 144 while Chihiro Ikeda and Cyna Rodriguez finished tied for third at 145 after a 74 and 72, respectively.
Ardina also went on to win the junior division title while the ICTSI squad of Piccio, Ardina, Rodriguez and Ikeda took the team title in a stirring sweep of the stroke play event.
