Bobby Wee’s brother introduced him to golf in 1996.
And from then on, there was no stopping Bobby from playing the sport that he has learned to play with gusto.
In 2001, the moment finally arrived to complete his ongoing golfing life. He made a hole-in-one at the Camp Aguinaldo Golf Club.
“Scoring a hole-in-one is rare in golf. I just got lucky and that made me very happy,” said Wee, vice-president for marketing of a trading company named MAVI Marketing.
Golf has become a part of Bobby’s life. “You need a lot of patience in playing golf. Just like in life, patience is the most important key to success,” said the team captain of the Amiya Residential Golf and Resort Team that ruled the recent Dynasty Cup at the Rancho Palos Golf and Country Club.
Bobby treats golf as seriously as he runs a business. No wonder, Amiya emerged champion.
“You have to study carefully which players to be fielded on that day, or the next day,” said the team captain who relied on team members Andrew Bautista, Noel Yango, Sherwin Bahani, Ed Guevarra, Faisal and Kureish Samanodi, Joseph Go, Manuel Nitorreda and Marc Lopez.
He said that luck was also on his side because his players were all determined to win.
“Naging serious din sila,” said Wee.
To Wee, playing golf, a non-contact sport, has given him the needed break from work. Playing on a wonderful golf course, Rancho Palos Golf and Country Club, has always been a delight, especially in the company of good friends. [Moses P. Billacura with Philip Daytic]
