Golfer of the Week – Joseph Go

Joseph Go is one of the low-profile businessmen in Davao involved in the pawnshop and car supplies services businesses.
And for years, business has been good to Smokin’ Joe, thanks to his principle of hard-work and good public relations.
The same principles he also applied well when he started playing golf.
He may not be as outstanding as other Davao golfers, but the few victories tucked under his belt were just enough to make him happy.
Learning to play golf and little by little getting better at it has helped him connect with other businessmen and the golf course eventually has just become one of the venues where he can make a business proposal or receive offers for business transactions that need to be done.
As his business progressed, Go has also found more time to play the sport that gave him not just business associates but good friends.
Just recently, he teamed up with Bobby Wee, Andrew Bautista, Noel Yango, Sherwin Bahani, Ed Guevarra, Faisal and Kureish Samanodi, Manny Nitorreda and Marc Lopez to rule the Dynasty Cup at the Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club.
He strongly believes that in the company of good friends, good things will happen. And that’s exactly  what happened at the tournament.
Team captain Bobby Wee made the calls and evenly distributed the strengths of the players and everyone agreed on a winning strategy.
It’s like in business, you talk among your peers, consult them on what are the things to be done and you come out a winner, said Go.
And most important to Smokin’ Joe is to enjoy the sport in the company of good buddies.  [MOSES P. BILLACURA WITH PHILIP DAYTIC]
