The Rotary Club of Matina Davao hosted an Invitational Golf Tournament last October 10, 2010 at the Championship Course Apo Golf and Country Club.
Said tournament was organized by the club headed by its President Edwin Cayamanda. The purpose is to raise funds for the various community projects lined up as part of the Club’s commitment to serve the community.
In the said tournament, major and minor sponsors came out to support the club. Best ball was the format of the tournament. Around 120 players came to play and support the club.
Secretary Rotarian Martin Misa and PP Rotarian Amado Atilano prepared the tournament format and played key roles in the success of the said tournament. The other members of the Club were all present to see to it that the first Rotary Club of Matina Davao Invitational Golf Tournament will end successfully. The club would like to thank all the players and sponsors who supported them.
The Jaime Tan-Alfonso Marcelino, Cesar Atienza-Ray Ferrer tandems won the over-all gross and net titles, respectively.
Some 120 players joined the event whose proceeds will fund the club’s community projects. It was organized by club president Edwin Cayamanda, past president Amado Atilano and secretary Martin Misa and supported by various sponsors.
Other winners are: Division A gross champion — Jun Singson/Denden de Castro; 2nd –Vincent Gumapac/Alemar Etrone; 3rd– Amado Atiano/Nido Albarillo. Net Champion are John Saavedra and George Martinez, Net 1st runner-up are Mike Larrabaster and Roy Quemada, Net 2nd runner-up are Ferdi Taglucop and Martin Pineda.
The Division B gross champion are Billy Tapucar and Charles Yumang, Gross 1st runner-up are Cerilo Olmoguez and Robert Lim, Gross 2nd runner-up are Ariel Roca and Winston Agcon, Net Champion are Boy Ramos and Romy Solivio, Net 1st runner-up are Ryan Ante and Casiano Monilia Net 2nd runner-up are Jimmy Ang and Jun Labog.
