One of the active members of the Thank God It’s Saturday (T.G.I.S.) golf group is Benjie P. Senining.
Benjie manages the Discovery Haulers Inc., a forwarding and trucking business with a tie-up with Oceanic Container Lines, Inc. and the Pioneer Logistics and Rental Corp., a reefer plugging facility located just a kilometer from the Sasa seaport.
But just like any other member, Benjie always looks forward to a Saturday when he can get his needed break at the best place where he and his friends can be: the golf course.
While the Apo Golf and Country Club is their official playground, there are some occasions that they would also tee off at the other courses, just to break the monotony.
Being in the company of good friends has never been a monotony for Benjie.
He has always enjoyed every moment of their gathering for reasons they really do not know. It all began with playing the sport, and when everyone got hooked to it, they simply decided to form a group and keep on playing, sharing laughter and even competing as one squad in team tournaments.
Prior to a Saturday, everyone is busy doing his own business, whether tending a farm, taking care of the printing needs of clients or just plain running a business by making sure that everything is going along smoothly.
Of course, businesses must remain profitable. Otherwise, they can no longer afford to play the sport. And that will be a calamity.
To Benjie, working hard will mean enjoying the fruits of one’s labor.
