Golfer of the Week – Tony Dacudao

A few months ago, Tony Dacudao scored a hole-in-one at the Rancho Palos Golf and Country Club.
He made that rare ace at hole no.6 using a Yonex Cyberstar Nanospeed driver and a Maxfli noodle ball to the delight of his friends Joe Tesado, Butch Santillan, Randy Cadiogan and Alden Delvo who witnessed the ace that earned Tony P1-million, the hole-in-one prize.
He took up the sport not to win trophies nor score a hole-in-one but, just like any many businessmen, he wanted to engage in a low-impact sport that at the same time also helps him get in touch with nature—and with friends.
A round of golf, whether it be a low-scoring or high-scoring game, has always been a delight for Tony because of the company of good friends.
Dacudao comes home to Davao whenever he can to play golf and take a break from running the Mindanao Coolers Corporation, a cold storage business based in Cagayan de Oro City where he also spends quality time to exercise at the Lumbia Golf Club.
Although he still has business interests in the Davao region that eat up his time, Dacudao would always find time on a weekend to keep in touch with friends for a round of talk, even lots of it.
Tony used to handle the Dacudao Open Chess Tournaments in Davao which he relinquished after relocating to Cagayan de Oro. However, if there are tournaments organized in Davao City, you can always count on him to be one of the supporters.
Despite his busy schedule, he has even remained very active in the projects conducted by the Davao Eagle Masters Inc. that organizes tournaments to raise funds for deserving students and build Day Care Centers for children.
Tony Dacudao, a long-time sportsman, enjoys playing golf, and at the same time finds satisfaction being an instrument of help to the community.  [MOSES P. BILLACURA WITH PHILIP DAYTIC]
