Boy Arriba and Lito Bario combined for 141 to win the team net title of the recent 3rd Phoenix Petroleum Open Golf Tournament at the Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club in Barangay Mandug-Indangan.
The duo won via count-back over Paul Dakudao and Johann Dalmacio.
Michael Lawrence Hao and Cris Tan followed in third place with 142 after besting also the tandem of Roger Alba and Jimmy Testado via count-back.
In the individual division, Cris Tan’s 73 gave him the over-all gross title while Il Gyu Kim’s 67 was enough for him to lift the over-all net champion’s trophy.
Emerging winners, too, were gross champion Boy Tan (74) and net champion Joe Marfori (68) in class A; gross champion Jun Pedro (79) and net champion Roderick Lo (70) in class
B; gross winner Roland Penaflor (90) and net winner Tommy Inigo (71) in class C; gross titlist Joseph Ng (104) and net titlist Anton Banzali (74) in class C.
Special awards were also given during the awarding ceremony by Phoenix Petroleum Philippines president Dennis Uy to Lando Ching for having the most number of pars with 14, Il Gyu Kim for having the most number of birdies with five and Joe Marfori for scoring an eagle.
Fun hole winners were Tommy Inigo with the most accurate drive, Ricky Pineda for landing the ball nearest the P1-million hole and Ho Bong Kang for hitting the longest drive. [MPB with Philip Daytic]
