University of Mindanao is gearing up for the 16th National University Games on October 22 to 29 in Roxas City, Capiz.
UM sports director Joaquin “Boy” Sarabia said they are regular participants to the sports competition where they will get the needed exposure as their athletes compete against the best university athletes.
“We cannot just play in Davao. The UniGames will provide our athletes a chance to prove themselves in the national level,” said Sarabia.
Events lined-up by organizers this year are athletics, badminton, billiards, swimming, volleyball, beach volleyball, basketball, chess, lawn tennis, table tennis, taekwondo, sepak takraw, softball and football.
Aside from UM, expected also to join are Ateneo de Davao University, University of the Immaculate Conception and Holy Cross of Davao College.
Other schools joining are UP-Diliman, Ateneo de Manila, National University, Adamson University, University of the East, St.Francis of Assisi College, St.Louie University, De La Salles University, University of Sto.Tomas, Angeles University, Holy Name University, West Negros University, University of St. La Salle, Foundation University, Southwestern University, University of San Agustin, Ateneo de Zamboanga and Dipolog Medical Center College Foundation.[MPB]
