PSC-backed AAK karatado set

Expect wire-to-wire action when the Association for the Advancement of Karatedo-Davao Branch brings the exciting 2012 Cherifer-PSC Interschool Karatedo Age Group and Seniors Championships on October 13 at the SM City Davao Annex.
AAK Davao Branch Manager and head coach Rommel Tan said this event is part of AAK Davao’s grass roots program to find and develop new talents in the sport. The tournament will also serve as preparation for the team who will compete in the 2nd Vietnhat Karatedo Championship in Hanoi, Vietnam on October 20-21 and the adidas Karate Cup International on November 30-December 2 at the SM Mall of Asia
Match schedules will be from from 10 am to 9pm.
Tan bared that Sensei Shin Tsukii, former national team coach, will be conducting a Kumite seminar on December 2.
This year’s championships is sponsored by the Philippine Sports Commission and Cherifer.
“We are expecting around 100 karatekas in this event which will be our basis for the selection of participants to the National Interschool Championships to be held in La Salle Greenhills next year,” Tan added.
The AAK Davao team recently competed in SM Bacoor and won 2 golds, 2 silvers and 6 bronze medals.
