After ending a long partnership with Top Rank earlier this year, Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao has officially signed with enigmatic boxing adviser, Al Haymon.
Haymon is best known as the adviser to Floyd Mayweather Jr., although he also represents fighters such as Adrien Broner, Errol Spence Jr., Keith Thurman, and Shawn Porter – all of whom are welterweights who are now potential Pacquiao opponents.
“I’m very excited about this new chapter in my career, and I’m looking forward to a fresh start,” Pacquiao said in a statement. “I’m reinvigorated by the prospects of bringing up new fighters under the MP Promotions banner.”
Pacquiao said he and his team “will work closely with Al Haymon for the remainder of my career, to deliver the most anticipated fights with top PBC (Premier Boxing Championship) fighters.”

“Those are the fights the fans want to see and the ones I want to have to close out my career,” he said.
Their partnership will officially begin with Pacquiao’s first defense of the WBA welterweight title, with Broner most likely his challenger.
Last week, Pacquiao bared plans to return to ring in January 2019, with the bout to be held in the United States.
“MP Promotions is very excited about this last phase of Senator Manny’s Hall of Fame career. We look forward to launching this new relationship with Manny’s first world title defense,” said Joe Ramos, who heads MP Promotions, in a statement.
Pacquiao is coming off a seventh-round knockout of Lucas Matthysse back in July – his first stoppage win in nearly a decade – to claim the WBA title.
