Veteran Benhur Villarosa and Metroguard President Boyet Escandor claimed two of the titles at stake in the 9th UMAGA Open Golf Tournament on Saturday at the Apo Golf and Country Club.
Villarosa was the Class A (0-9 handicap) gross champion with a gross 31 over Bobby Go’s 30 while Escandor reigned supreme in Class B (10-18 hcp) with a gross score of 32 beating runner-up Macakay Mending who finished with a 26 to top the winners’ circle of the tournament organized by the University of Mindanao Alumni Golf Association (UMAGA).
Rene Pasiwen won the Class A net title with a 38 while Ludwig Van Ledesma settled for runner-up with a 37. In Class B, the net title went to John Servillon with a 44 while Lando Cachuela was runner-up with a 38. Jacky Fong took home the Class C (19-27 hcp) gross title with a 24 while Don de Guzman was second with a 22. Ricky Estardo pocketed the Class C net with a 41 in a countback win over Orly Ang.
Ting Castillo took the Seniors Division gross title with a gross 30 besting Randy Cadiogan’s 23 while Ralph Garcia won the net honors with a net 45 over runner-up Nilo Miole who had a 37.
