The Hyenas Football Club (FC) dominated the 15-Under Boys category of the first Davao Strikers FC Football Festival on Sunday at Deca Homes Tacunan Football Field.
The young Hyenas annexed the championship title after defeating the AC Vincere Team on a 3-2 penalty shoot-out after the championship game ended in a 1-1 standoff.
“Happy kaayo ko sa results sa among first nga padula kay daghan kaayo nangapil” said organizer and founder of Davao Strikers Coach Murphy Jake Somosot.
The Davao Strikers FC is one of the biggest football clubs in the city with over 300 active members who regularly conduct free training and opportunities to children and adults with interest and passion for the game.
In other games, Team Bukas Palad won the 12-Under Boys title after defeating Black Rose Amsai 2-0, Toril Crossers FC won over Calinan FC 1-0 to pocket the 15-Under Girls crown and Wayuk Mountaineers FC annexed the top slot for the Mens Open over Hyenas FC.
“Amo pang paningkamutan na sa sunod mapadako pa namo ni nga padula” said Coach Somosot.
The event was participated by 15 football clubs and teams from Davao City and Davao del Norte.
