National University (NU) Bulldogs head coach Jamike Jarin shared his basketball expertise to Davao City coaches in a basketball coaching clinic organized by the Samahang Basketball ng Pilipinas (SBP) in Davao Region and hosted by Arcadia Active Lifestyle Center on Wednesday, August 14.
SBP 11 regional director and Presidential Adviser for Sports Glenn Escandor said the coaching clinic was part of the continuing efforts of the organization in upgrading the level of coaching knowledge and expertise of basketball coaches in Davao City and nearby areas.
The multi-titled Jarin assumed the head coach position of the Bulldogs after his successful stint as head coach of the San Beda Red Lions in December of 2016. His experience in collegiate competitions as well as international tournaments as coach of the Batang Gilas national squad will benefit the local coaches according to Escandor.
“We are happy that coach Jarin shared his time to give a session with our basketball coaches. It is a rare experience we must take opportunity of,” said Escandor.
Jarin also sits as one of the assistant coaches of the Meralco Bolts of the PBA. He also had a stint as head coach of the Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eaglets.
Meantime, the National University Bulldogs scored a huge upset over defending champion De La Salle University to win the 2019 Kadaawan Invitational Basketball Tournament at the Davao City Recreation Center on Wednesday night.
