Roderick Lo won his second golf tournament in two weeks after taking the overall gross trophy in the 6th BM&V Law Firm-Montejo Cup Invitational golf tournament over the weekend.
Lo, who won last week’s Davao Central School Batch 73 Golf Tournament title, asserted his mastery of the 7,039-yard rolling layout at the Rancho Palos Verdes with a gross one under par 71. It was a close win, however, as Lo had to go through the countback and win it with 5 birdies in his scorecard.
Addy Briones shared the limelight with Lo by taking the overall net crown also by countback with a 68 and 12 pars.
In the class championships, Oying Caturan reigned supreme in the Class A gross division with a one over par 73. Emilio Pedro finished first runner up in a 75 and Dennis Capa second runner up in a 78. Andrew Bautista ran away with the Class A net plum with a 69 besting the identical 70s of first runner-up Robert Siason and Mark Villorente.
In Class B, Godfrey Cstinares won the gross title in a 85 besting host lawyer Ed Batacan who took the first runner-up honors via countback over second runner up Andy Fang with a identical 88s. Benjie Seninig took the net title in a 71 via countback (1 birdie, 5 pars) over Amado Anonuevo. Ross Eric Veloso took second runner-up in a 72.
Moving over to Class C, it was councilor Dado Mahipus who bagged the gross trophy in a 78 while Mario Marimon edged Antonio Morta for first runnerup via countback after scoring identical 100s. Elindo Lo was Net winner with a 72 while Ogie Lim was first runner up in a 74 and Pitoy Palma Gil was second runnerup in a 75.
