The 10th Infantry “Agila” Division settled for second place in the just-concluded AFP-PNP Invitational Basketball Tournament at the Davao City Recreation Center on Monday.
Despite finishing the eliminations with the best record of 9 wins without a single defeat, the Agilas succumbed to City Mayor’s Office in the finals 75-69. CMO avenged its loss to the Agilas in the eliminations to pocket the title via the proverbial back door.
In the battle for third place, Bureau of Fire Protection 11 turned back the Police Regional Office 11.
Several 10ID players bagged individual awards at the conclusion of the tournament which served as one of the sporting highlights of the Araw ng Davao celebrations.
Sgt Rusty Borromeo was named the conference’s most valuable player and member of the mythical selection alongside Sgt Eduardo Mahilum and Private First Class Junnel Perdido.
Army Major Mark Anthony Tito was named to the Mythical Five in the officer’s category while Coach Raphael Claveria was named Coach of the Conference.
