Ginebra routs TNT in Game 3, takes 2-1 lead

Justin Brownlee recovered from his worst shooting performance of his PBA career by finishing with 29 points on 11-of-19 shooting from the field.

A ferocious Barangay Ginebra side went on a hot shooting night in Game 3 of the 2023 PBA Governors’ Cup finals turning back TNT, 117-103, on Friday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

It was a different Barangay Ginebra squad this time from the team who went on an anemic shooting in the loss in Game 2.

Justin Brownlee, Jamie Malonzo, and Stanley Pringle led a critical 14-2 run that turned Game Three into a rout in the final period as the Gins grabbed a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-seven finals series.

Brownlee recovered from his worst shooting performance of his PBA career by finishing with 29 points on 11-of-19 shooting from the field. He capped that run with a three, his third of the game, to enable Ginebra to take a 105-94 lead after going 0-of-5 from the outside in Game Two.

Malonzo added 27 points including 6-of-9 from threes, while Pringle had 22 points on a perfect 6-of-6 shooting from the perimeter in the victory.

In total, Ginebra nailed 18 threes in Game Three.
