Celebrating its 26th year in business, the Arthur N. Escalante Construction Inc. (ANECI) held its second annual invitational golf tournament at the South Pacific Golf and Leisure club on Wednesday November 8,2023.
“We had a successful first ANECI Invitational golf tournament last year in celebration of our Silver Anniversary, that’s why I decided to hold again this year a follow tournament in appreciation of thanks for the support of our friends in construction, in Freemasonry and you my fellow golfers” says Art Escalante, Pres and Gen Mgr. ANECI.
A total of 80 golfers responded to the Double barrel System 36 format on a double header with start time at 6am and 11:30 am. Majority of the golfers converged later in the night for the golf awards and fellowship at the SPG Clubhouse near gate 1.
Comebacking American missionary Peter Bollant tamed the course with his 74 and top lawyer Atty Ronieto Bata scored a net 70 to emerged as the Overall Gross and Net champions respectively.
Veteran Larry Baluso again ruled the Class A division with his 77 for the Gross diadem over Randall Hooper (80). Randy Arevalo meanwhile scored a net 71 to take home the Lowest net title over Dennis Capa who scored a net 70. Retired generals Abe Rojas (85) and Alex Monteagudo (72) shared the honors for Gross and Net champions for Class C while Jojo Sy (88) and Rey Legaspi (72) contend with the runner up honors respectively.
Dan Juson (94) nipped Art Maurera (96) for the Gross title in Class C as Brendan Tirador (73) held his ground over Jay Lagat (74) for the Class C net plum.
Evelyn Quiansay and Cha Kato meanwhile topped the Ladies division for the Gross and Net title.
The victors were awarded with a trophy during the awards and fellowship night.
A live band entertained the golfers and guest during the awards and fellowship night while roasted beef and sashimi from a whole tuna was served at the center of the buffet table. It as a night of laughter, drinks and fun as everyone enjoyed the offering of ANECI for its anniversary and birthday celebration of Engr Art Escalante.
