Rianne Malixi, fresh off her breakthrough victory in Braeside, aims for a sweep of the two premier titles in the Australian Amateur starting Tuesday in Victoria.
Last week, she staged a remarkable comeback at the Southern Golf Club, securing a one-stroke win at the Australian Master of the Amateurs Championship.
Now, fueled by this success, she kicks off her campaign at the Keysborough Golf Club against local competitors Yuuki Takada and Jennifer Herbst at 12:42 p.m.
The championship, featuring 205 contenders for the men’s crown and 105 for the women’s title, unfolds across the challenging par-73 layout of Keysborough Golf Club and the renowned Yarra Yarra Golf Club, both crafted from sand dunes. Malixi, motivated and inspired after her overseas triumph, is optimistic about her performance this week, though she faces strong competitors, including reigning Queen Sirikit Cup champion Avani Prashanth and defending champion Mizuki Hashimoto from Japan.
The field also includes back-to-back runner-up Justice Bosio and other formidable players, promising an intense 72-hole championship spectacle.
