Using his 8-handicap to the hilt, Miggy Dizon tamed the difficult Apo Golf and Country Club with 75 points to bag the low gross title for the club’s March monthly medal tournament.
Joining Dizon in the winner’s circle is 17-handicapper Ariel Roca who got his share of honors by taking the overall net diadem with his net 68.
More than 130 golfers answered the starting gun for the two-day tourney after a week of hosting for the ICTSI pro series. With its finely-manicured green causing so much headache to the pro golfers the past four days, amateur golfers were caught surprise by the sleek greens and jaw dropping pin placement waiting during the weekend tournament. No surprise that scores went North and golfers just bit their lips and hurl expletives after experiencing horrible three putts. Apo golf is in its finest form the whole week.
“I know most of you are still in state of awe and shock after the tournament but we’re glad that we survived with our sanity still intact and just laugh away those three putts with some shaking of our heads, all in the spirit of golf “said Mark Oropeza, Chairman Sports and Games Committee on his welcome remarks.
” We have allocated a total of 50 minor and major prizes mostly household appliances and unfortunately nobody was able to hit the jackpot Hole in One Prizes but I believe somebody will hit it sooner “Oropeza added.

It was a fitting finale for a week of golf hosted by the Apo Golf & Country Club starting with the pro series and members and guests having fun in the Monthly Medal tournament on weekends.
The sumptuous buffet dinner offered by management of the Apo Golf and country club made the wait worthwhile for the golfers as their names were called during the most awaited part, the raffling of prizes. Nobody went home empty handed after the fellowship.
“Everybody is a winner in every Apo Golf Monthly medal tournament. We always make it sure that no one will go home without an item for the wife” Oropeza concluded
