Mise, Lebosada bag titles in Beehive Golf tournament

Rikrek Mise tamed the Rancho Palos Verdes golf with his 73 edging out Roderick Lo via countback to grab the lowest gross title on Saturday June 27 at the Beehive ChariTee Golf tournament in Palos Verdes Golf. Neil Canedo meanwhile carded a net 63 equivalent to 45 points for the Overall Net crown.

“I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to all the sponsors, friends, Masonic brothers and to you, my dearest golfers for your support to make this tournament a success. If you remember during our last edition on 2023 you supported us for our Cleft and palate children patients as beneficiaries and today we are proud to say that more children have now great confidence because of the surgical operations, they can now smile confidently” Worshipful Master Roderick Lo, tournament director said on his opening remarks.

About 180 golfers responded to the two shotgun start on Saturday playing to a near perfect condition after experiencing two straight days of afternoon rains. Though the fairways of the course have softened, the greens became more receptive and the conditions became perfect for this tricky Par 72 undulating golf course located in the heart of Mandug, Davao City.

Roderick Lo (35) got the Class A gross diadem winning via countback over Jing Tan who settled for first runner up honors using the Molave format point system. Jerson Lebosado (40) emerged as the Net Champion for Class A with Mac Mending (39) taking the runner up honors.

Edge Davao Columnist Engr Chito Malabanan scored a 10 over par equivalent to 40 Molave points finishing second to Class B Net Champion Boy Arriba who scored 42 points. TJ Aviles (30) bagged the Class B Gross plum with Rene Manuel (27) as runner up.

Class C Division Gross title went to Menrado “Poypoy” Canusa (23) followed closely by John “Epong” Soliban (21) for the runners up honors. Dennis Balinas (41) got the Class C Net Title via countback over Serapio Bendico (41) who followed suit for the runner up honors.

The Ladies Division Gross title went to youthful Blair Uy King (29) with Milou Babol (22) as runner up. Jhing Torres (35) bagged the Net title with Len Lee (33) completing the winner’s circle at the podium.

“This year’s beneficiaries through the Beehive Foundation will be for the various projects of our youth and the continuing projects of the Datu Bago Masonic Lodge 197 and SFOSA” said Senior Warden Rhuel Desabilla of the Datu Bago Masonic Lodge 197.

Laughter and fun drowned the live music playing during the awards night as golfers were glued to their seats while partaking overflowing drinks and foods while awaiting their names to be called during the raffling of prizes and awarding of winner’s trophies.
