The Ecoland Phase IV Tennis Club Memorial Cup reeled off on Tuesday, December 17.
Tournament director Boy Diong along with Ecoland IV Tennis Committee President Andrew Leo Delos Santos, Retired Police General and Eco IV Homeowners Association President Filmore Escobal and tournament coordinator Ayi Roca presided over the opening ceremonies.
Up for grabs are titles in the 10 years-old and under Unisex, 12 years-old and under, 14 years-old and under, 16 years-old and under and 18 years-old and under Boys and Girls categories.
Minco Domingo Jr. and Councilor Cocoy Zozobrado hit the ceremonial serves to formally open the tournament. It also honored former club presidents Minco Domingo, Roger Fanlo, Toto Laingo, Willy Yap, Leo delos Santos, Toto Rome, Jess Zozobrado, Connie Yap, Serafin Nacilla, Danny Regino, Peter de Cawer, Bebot Trinidad and Sandy Gloria.
The tournament, a Philta Group 3 sanctioned event will run until December 22 will also be played at the nearby Ecoland II tennis courts due the number of entries which reached 120.
Trophies and ranking points will be up for grabs to the winners. (DSA)
