Blessed with golf perfect weather on the weekend is a bonus for the organizers as more than 140 golfers completed their rounds in the 1st Ateneo 99Knights golf tournament organized by the Batch 99 of Ateneo de Davao High School.
Youthful Vince Enzo Naranjo bagged the Overall Gross Title with his Gross 3 over par equivalent to 51 Molave points while unheralded lady golfer Faye Elorza surprised everyone with her Net 63 Molave points to garner the Overall Net crown.
“We are overwhelmed by your support, considering we have barely 8 weeks to prepare for this tournament but the outcome is encouraging. Thanks to our sponsors, friends of the batch 99, to the South Pacific Golf but most of all to you our fellow golfers. Proceeds of this tournament will go directly to our beneficiaries, patients of the Tim Tebow Cure Hospital who caters the needs of children with cleft palate and orthopedic deformities and Hernia” said Marlon Kirk Galendez, tournament chairman during the awarding fellowship.
Addie Briones(50) led Class A winners by winning the top gross plum with Glenn Yap(54) bagging the Net title for the Divisio. Leo Yap(48) and Enzo Magno(52) joined in the podium in claiming the gross and net runner up honors.
Class B winners were led by Jeff Hong(46) and John Natanjo(54) for the gross and net diadem while Jon Ortega(41) and Ken Dabi(53) have their share of the limelight as gross and net runner up winners.
Edge Davao columnist Engr Chito Malabanan(49) settled for the Net runner up honors in the Seniors Division won by Tom Aquino(52). Edwin Cayamanda(42) grabbed the Gross diadem over runner up Joseph Ng(36)
