Rancho Palos Verdes played host to the much-awaited 1st Synodality Best Ball Scramble team golf tournament on Saturday, March 8, 2025 with over 60 teams competing in the exciting team format.
Tournament director Paul Garcia highlighted the unique team play format, emphasizing the spirit of synodality, which means “a way of living out the faith by working together.” The tournament’s beneficiary was The San Alfonso Ma.de Liguori Parish.
A total of 246 golfers participated, supporting the construction and renovation of the parish church. Father Joko Ortiz expressed gratitude for the contributions made by the golfers.
Edipolo “Oying” Caturan and Apo Luna emerged as the Overall Gross team champions with a gross score of 63 and an average 8 handicap. Team Job Fernandez and Nen Vicente scored net 52 to bag the Overall Net title.
In Class A, Sim Gonzalez and Peter Baruis claimed the top spot with a net score of 57, edging out Engr Ludwig Ledesma and Eugene Chiong (59). The Class B division saw Eaglemasters Roderick Lo and Joe Tesado (54) triumph over Ricky Pahang and Adrian Amigleo (55).
