Rain or Shine downs TNT in Game 5

Rain or Shine is still alive in the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup Semifinals.

This, as the Elasto Painters took down Chot Reyes-less TNT, 113-97, on Friday at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Reyes was suspended for one game as he reached a total of five technical fouls in the conference.

It wasn’t until the third quarter when Yeng Guiao’s wards established a huge separation, banking on a 15-2 run from the 61-56 count to pull away and keep the opposing cogs at bay until the buzzer.

“Nakadalawang championship na sila [TNT], baka pagod na sila,” Guiao said after the game.

ROS gunner Gian Mamuyac led five players in twin-digit scoring, firing 22 points to go with three assists, earning Best Player of the Game nod.

Jhonard Clarito was there to supplement that firepower, listing 19 points on 8-of-9 clip including seven rebounds and five assists, while Adrian Nocum, Andrei Caracut, and Keith Datu added 11 markers each.

Calvin Oftana and Simon Enciso paced the other side with 23- and 20-point performances, respectively.

Rain or Shine hopes to keep their finals bid alive in Game 6 on Sunday, July 6, at the same Cubao venue.
