700 golfers set to take part in 16th Eaglemasters golf

More than 700 golfers are expected to slug it out for the 16th running of the Eaglemasters golf tournament which will be contested at Davao City’s three challenging golf courses on September 18 to 21,2025.

This was bared by tournament director Engr Randy Cadiogan at the Eaglemasters Driving Range on Tuesday September 2,2025. With barely two weeks before hitting the first tee, more teams are still on the rush for the remaining slots available for the tournament.

Davao City will be the battle ground once again for Mindanao’s biggest golf spectacle in September. This year’s edition of the Eaglemasters have attracted par busters from as far as Australia, the USA, local golfers from the North Luzon, the usual strong Manila teams, Cebu and the Visayas and the rest of Mindanao and local Davao City teams. Organizers anticipate the to surpass last year’s attendance which attracted more than 40 teams and 700 golfers who this time will try once again test their mettle in the Four-day tournament to be held at the three finest golf courses of Davao City.

With over 15 million worth of Hole in One and raffle prizes at stake, the four-day tournament will be co-hosted by Davao City’s three golf courses on September 18 to 21,2025. Skills, stamina and patience will be tested on the undulating and hilly Rancho Palos Verdes Golf, the relatively flat but risky South Pacific Golf and at the much improved Apo Golf and Country club known for its tight fairways lined with decades old Narra trees, and fast greens guarded by renovated greens that makes the game more challenging.

All Par 3s of the three courses have been designated with varied Hole in One prizes. Flags were placed in all Par 3 holes totaling to as much as twelve pin placements in just one hole to increase the chance of golfers to hit the jackpot.

“We have secured the assistance of an IT company for organizing the registration, scoring and real time results that would be handy during the four-day tournament. We advise all golfers to submit their email address, pictures and contact number during the registration to enable them access the latest innovation we have prepared” Randy Cadiogan said.

Teams are classified into four divisions namely Regular with five flights (Championship, (0-4 handicap), Flight A (4.1 to 8), Flight B (8.1 to 12), Flight C (12.1 to 16), Flight D (16.1 to 21) Ladies Division (Flight A and B); Seniors Division for golfers aged 55 to 69 (Championship Flight (0-7), Flight A (7.1-15) Flight B (15.1 up). Another division has been added for the Super Seniors (age 70 and above) which will tee off on white tees.

Regulars will tee off at Blue except for the Championship which tees off on gold. Seniors will use the silver, the Ladies the red and the Super Seniors on white tee.

Stableford system will be applied for this 5-to-play-4-to-count format for the Men’s regular while Molave scoring system for the rest of the other divisions. The average of three lowest handicap of players on each team basing on July 15,2025 NGAP WHS index will be the basis for team classification.

“We have once again decided to use the three courses to accommodate the increased number of participants who were not able to play last year but have signified their intention as early as early part of this year. The format will be three days of play plus one-day rest and it will depend on the scheduling. We expect a whole week of golf including practice rounds which make the task more challenging but we are prepared and ready” Cadiogan added.

Trophies await the Team champion, First and second runner up in all divisions while trophies also await the Gross/ Net Champion and runners up for Individual competition in each division.

All paid participants will be allowed one (1) free practice round in all the three (3) courses, any day from September 9-17, 2025.

Registration is pegged at P 75,000 per team consisting of 5 players or P15,000 per individual participants with no team.
